Why I love Stitch Fix and you will too

Shopping is tough

Ok, so we’ve already established that I am short and that makes it hard to find decent clothes. That alone is a big enough deterrent, so honestly, I don’t LOVE shopping. (Shocker, I know.) I love fashion and looking like a real human being, but I hate trying to find the clothes. This is where Stitch Fix comes in.

Stitch Fix

My mum actually recommended Stitch Fix to me after hearing a few of her coworkers rave about it. I decided that I needed to branch out from my usual rotation of 5 gray tops and signed up for it that day.

First impressions

I was pumped when I saw that they have an app. I am on my phone so often that if I can’t easily access a website via an app or a very mobile friendly site, I probably just won’t use it. Not only does Stitch Fix have an app, but it’s also super easy to use!

The second thing I loved was how thorough they are while creating your profile. One of the first things you have to do after you sign up is take a style quiz. They ask you questions regarding your size in all types of clothing as well as the fit. I was a bit skeptical, because how can you know if something will fit without trying it on? Once you fill this out, you go on to other little style quizzes where they show you pictures of different clothing items and you can either give them a thumbs up or a thumbs down, giving your stylist an even more in depth idea of your style preferences. These will pop up periodically so your stylist will constantly be learning more about your style, especially as the seasons and trends change and evolve.

My final favorite aspect was the fact that you can customize literally every aspect of your box, form how frequently you receive them to how much you want to pay (you can give a range) for each type of clothing item in the box. You can even opt not to receive some things such as accessories.

My first fix!

Unfortunately, I was a little too eager when I got my first fix and I forgot to take pictures unboxing! (Oops.) I promise I will take pictures of the next one!

Along with the clothes, your stylist will include little cards with two outfits for inspiration for each item. Love it! And we all know I could use a little inspo…

The goods

I received five items in my box and honestly I loved each one! I only ended up keeping two pieces, but that’s because one of them was much more expensive than my typical budget, but let me tell you, the quality is SO worth it. I also tried to link to each piece here so you could see images of the ones I didn’t end up keeping, but I cannot for the life of me find them to buy unless it’s used on Poshmark.

  1. Gold earrings- I didn’t keep the earrings, even though they were super cute, because I actually don’t switch mine out that often. I couldn’t justify spending the money on a pair that I probably wouldn’t end up wearing that often. If you’re interested they are gold studs by Gorjana.
  2. LBD- The second item (I also did not keep) was a super classic little black dress by Calvin Klein that would have been absolutely perfect if I wasn’t so short.
  3. Work top- Again, this top was super cute, but I didn’t love it quite enough to justify keeping it after deciding on one particular item that was a bit pricey. This was by 41 Hawthorn and is called the Breyson Pleated Detail Blouse.
  4. Jeans- Ok, the phrase “fit like a glove” has never been more accurate. The Grace High Rise Super Skinny by Just Black must have been made specifically for me because they are the most comfortable pair of jeans I have ever worn. Which is also probably why they are $78. I can confidently say I have never spent that much on a single pair of jeans… until now.
  5. Laila Jayde- Last but not least this 3/4 sleeve Dolman Knit top by Laila Jayde was the second keeper. This paired with the jeans makes for the cutest outfit! I may or may not have worn it the next day after receiving the fix. (Spoiler alert: I did.)
